As you open your 2011 calendar, be sure to include AAUW activities.
Many of the local branch groups take a break at this time of year, but our calendar will be full again beginning in February. Meanwhile, here is a bit of what's going on this month:
The Book Review interest group will meet at 1pm on Thursday, January 20, at the home of the hostess.
WBBM News Co-Anchor Kris Krydel will speak about "Old Media, New Media, and Somewhere in Between" at the 28th Annual AAUW-IL District 5 Networking Luncheon. The event will be held at 11:30am, Saturday, January 22, at the Deerfield Hyatt (1750 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, Illinois). The cost of lunch is $35 and includes a choice of entree. Contact donnamz@sbcglobal.net before the January 8 deadline for further information.
Diversity: In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.
