BRUNCH FOR GRANT RECIPIENTS

The program will feature the following Educational Opportunity - formerly Educational Foundation - grant recipients:

  • Rebecca Jensen, PhD candidate, inorganic chemistry, Northwestern U
  • Yoko Shimpuku of Japan, PhD candidate, nursing, UI Chicago
  • Priscilla Viana of Brazil, PhD candidate, Environmental/Sanitary Engineering, UI Chicago

Lunch will be soup, choice of chicken caesar salad or chicken chopped salad, rolls, beverage, and dessert. The cost of the meal, including tax & tip, is $14. Contact kaymadden@comcast.net to make your reservation by March 1.

FEBRUARY 2010



Cadillac Records (2008) will be discussed by the At the Movies interest group Monday, February1, at 7pm, at the home of the hostess.

Rescheduled from January due to bad weather, the meeting of the Reflections on Reading interest group will discuss Eventide by Kent Haruf 7pm, Thursday, February 4, at the home of the hostess.

Join the Waukegan Area Branch at it February general meeting, 9:30am, Saturday, February 8, at the Gurnee Police Facility (Washington Street and O'Plaine Road). Speaker Marcie Carlson, RN at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Zion, will talk about the nursing role in fighting cancer. A potluck brunch will precede the program, which is open to the public.

The Travelogue interest group will meet on Tuesday, February 23, at 7pm, at the home of the hostess. The program will feature photographs and stories about national parks visited by group members.
