In preparation for the coming AAUW year,
- the branch board met last week (and enjoyed a delicious pot luck supper)
- the program planning committee has made plans for general meeting speakers
- interest group leaders are putting finishing touches on 2016-17 plans

- The Lake County Women's Coalition (of which WABAAUW is a founding member organization) has scheduled an event for 7pm, Thursday, August 25, at Warren-Newport Public Library. Please contact the library to reserve your place.
- The AAUW-IL Gender Equity Fund partners with the Chicago Inc. Branch of AAUW to present Equal Means Equal, an unflinching look at how women are treated in the United States today. The screening will be at The Logan Theatre, 2646 N. Milwaukee, Chicago, 6:00-9:00pm, Friday, August 26. You can register at http://emechicago.eventbrite.com .
The Waukegan Area Branch held a successful accessory sale this summer.
Proceeds will benefit the branch's local scholarship fund.
