  • Author Marianella Peterson will lead a discussion of her book Once Upon a Legacy of Ink, Sand, and Tears at the 7pm, Thursday, September 4, meeting of the Reflections on Reading interest group.

  • The At the Movies interest group will discuss A Late Quartet (2012) at its7pm, Monday, September 8, meeting.

  • The branch will hold its kick-off meeting/potluck brunch at the Gurnee Police Facility (Washington & O'Plaine) at 9:30am, Saturday, September 20.  Women's historian/author Barbara Joan Zeitz will be the featured speaker.  As usual, this general meeting is open to the public.  Please join us!

  • The Panama Canal will be the topic at the 7pm, Tuesday, September 23, meeting of the branch Travelogue interest group.

  • The Exploring Culture interest group will take a trip to Racine, WI, to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Research Tower & Administration Building, the S.C. Johnson Gallery, and the Golden Rondelle Theater for a tour entitled "Landmarks Tour 2014" on Wednesday, September 24.

  • The branch board will meet at 7pm, Thursday, September 25.
