Welcome!
This branch of The American Association of University Women was organized in 1928. The Waukegan Area Branch serves all communities in northeast Lake County, Illinois.
In addition to monthly general meetings - open to the public - WAB has interest groups (At the Movies, Book Review, Exploring Culture, Reflections on Reading, Travelogue) that are for branch members and guests.
The Waukegan Area Branch also has a community project called Baby Hats with Love that provides hats for newborn babies at a local hospital.
WAB is a founding member of the Lake County Women's Coalition.
In addition to participating in district, state, and national events, WAB is a planning partner in AAUW-IL Networking Luncheon and AAUW-IL Scholars Brunch.
The Waukegan Area AAUW 75th Anniversary Grant is administered by the national organization. Local scholarships are administered locally.
We hope to meet you soon!
