Lilly Ledbetter at AAUW Convention April 20 is Equal Pay Day, the symbolic day when women's wages catch up to men's wages from the year before. Help create awareness of this persistant gap by urging passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act.
More than 46 years after passage of the Equal Pay Act, women continue to earn only 77 cents on the dollar to their male counterparts. In this recession, women now make up half of the workforce; more and more families are relying on women's paychecks to make ends meet. Ensuring that women are paid fairly is more important than ever.
